Job Specification: Business Development Executive

Gift Innovations is a leading Irish corporate gifting company, specialising in employee rewards & recognition, and client gifting solutions. With a robust operational backbone built through Lean methodologies, we are now focused on bringing the same excellence to our commercial strategy.

Role Purpose

The Business Development Executive will drive commercial growth by generating and qualifying leads, managing sales opportunities, re-engaging lapsed accounts, and nurturing existing clients. The role blends new business development with light touch structured account management. This role is based in our Limerick office.


We are looking for someone who is curious, coachable, commercially aware, and eager to grow. If you bring energy, communication skills, and a willingness to learn, we’ll provide the environment, training, and support to help you succeed.

Experience

  • 3-5 years’ experience in sales, business development, or customer success within an SME or B2B setting.
  • Experience in account management or relationship-focused roles is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated success in generating leads, qualifying opportunities, managing pipelines, and closing deals.
  • While a third-level degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field is a welcome addition, it is not a requirement. We value attitude, initiative, and adaptability more than formal qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively generate new business through outbound activities.
  • Qualify leads rigorously using a structured process.
  • Assist in preparing quotations and proposals.
  • Maintain and update Salesforce CRM with comprehensive client records.
  • Extend outreach beyond initial contacts via multi-touch, multi-channel approaches.
  • Systematically apply upselling, cross-selling, and referral generation strategies.
  • Support account management through consistent client engagement.
  • Re-engage lapsed and lost accounts to create new opportunities.
  • Collaborate with marketing to align lead generation campaigns.
  • Track and report against defined sales KPIs.

  • Frequency and effectiveness of outreach.
  • Opportunities created and conversion rates.
  • Upsell and cross-sell achievements.
  • Referrals secured.
  • CRM usage and data hygiene.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Commercial awareness and a results-driven approach.
  • Organisational ability and time management.
  • Comfortable with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).
  • Persuasive, influential and capable of consultative selling.

Remuneration

  • Base Salary: €35,000 – €37,000 depending on experience.
  • Performance Bonus: Paid quarterly, based on KPIs, activated after 6-month probation.
